Power

Liquid-cooled, 689cc, inline twin has been designed to provide deep, powerful torque in the most frequently used rpm range (3,000 to 6,500 rpm). A single balancer shaft keeps things silky smooth, while the 6-speed transmission with overdrive 6th gear reduces engine rpms at highway speeds.

Brakes

The addition of ABS to the dual 282 mm disc, 4 piston caliper up front and 245 mm disc, single piston caliper in the rear gives you piece of mind while braking under pressure or in wet conditions.

The FZ-07 features a compact 689cc liquid-cooled, inline twin cylinder, DOHC engine with fuel injection. This engine provides a unique power character, combining outstanding low- to mid-range torque with strong high-rpm pulling power.
•Crossplane Concept
This 2-cylinder engine features Yamaha’s “Crossplane Concept” 270 degree crank that provides linear torque development in response to the rider’s throttle input. The CP2 engine is also light, slim and compact and offers an excellent level of rider/machine communication.
•Compact Frame Design
A lightweight diamond-type high tensile steel frame provides an optimized rigidity balance for light, agile handling and stability. The engine is a stressed member of the chassis, allowing a lighter, more compact main frame design.
•Sporty Chassis Dimensions
The wheelbase, seat height, fuel tank width, rake and other dimensions are all set to work with the qualities of the compact twin-cylinder engine to achieve a sporty, light and neutral handling character.
